Remembering members who have gone the distance.

Max Evans
 May 25, 1935--March 24, 2006

Max’s first Corvette was a 1988.  He and Arlene traveled to Titusville for the 1999 Ecklers Car Show and could not believe the number of Corvettes they saw along the way.  They pulled up along side of the Brocks from CCPB, and Derek and Linda invited them to join in the parade.  They did and that is how they found their way to our club.

While Max owned the ‘88 he had knee surgery, so he was not supposed to be driving.  One afternoon Arlene was looking for Max and went to the garage where she found crutches on the floor but no Max and no Vette.

Max sold his ‘88 to the Wades and purchased his 2nd Vette: a 1999.  Eventually, he passed that car onto his son and purchased a 2004 convertible.  Arlene still has that Vette and enjoys driving around with her top down (sic).

Max was well known for his jokes and stories.  He entertained us at many an event.  One time in Sarasota at the St. Armand’s Show, he played Dr. Venus’s assistant in a skit about a spray with the power to enlarge the family jewels.  After Max demonstrated his enhancement, everyone fought over the one can of spray that was left.

Several times, Max and Arlene ferried all the gals on their yacht to the Ft. Pierce Show.  He backed his yacht into the slip with the same ease he backed his Vette into a parking space.

Max…We miss your wit and your charm.  We miss your kindness and your generosity.  We miss you, buddy.
